How I save resources for my startup

Seven to eight months ago, I decided to create a startup because I couldn’t find a good platform to share my experience and showcase my skills. This led to the birth of an all-in-one portfolio platform for all specialists: Yourhero.me.

Problem:

As a startup, we have limited resources. While I want my developer to focus on building the product, I also need to keep track of user registrations, conduct email marketing, and gather feedback. I decided to handle these aspects myself.

Solutions:

I love Zapier and already have some experience with this tool. Although I’m a designer, I enjoy exploring tools outside my industry. I believe every CEO should understand multiple aspects of a business, not just their primary industry. It’s important to know marketing, sales, and, in my case, I love playing with AI and automation tools. So, I decided to use Zapier for my website automation.

What I Did:

I created a webhook and sent it to my developer, which now gives me information about all my users, including their email addresses. This allows me to use the data for email marketing and feedback collection. I then connected this information to my company email. The first automation I set up was welcome messages. Now, with Zapier, Yourhero.me sends an automated welcome email to every new user. This is just the beginning of what I can achieve with this tool.

Improvements:

Here are some ways I plan to further enhance our automation and user engagement:

1. Feedback Collection: Set up automated emails requesting feedback after a certain period of user activity.

2. User Segmentation: Segment users based on their activity and send tailored content to each group.

3. Newsletter Automation: Regularly update users with the latest features, blog posts, and industry news.

4. Event Triggers: Create triggers for specific user actions (e.g., completing a profile, publishing a case study) and send relevant follow-up emails.

5. Analytics Integration: Integrate analytics tools to track the effectiveness of these automated emails and improve them based on performance data.

By leveraging Zapier and other automation tools, I aim to keep improving our user engagement and operational efficiency while allowing our development team to focus on building a great product.
